1. Make the decision to decorate
Decorating for any home, let alone a rental home, can often feel challenging and maybe even overwhelming. There are tons of questions to ask, like how much time and money should you invest? Or are there any rules or guidelines to consider?
First things first, make the decision to decorate. Home is where the heart is. It’s where we spend the better parts of our day and should be a place you love. By making the decision to decorate, you can transform any space into a memorable experience. We can’t wait to show you more.
2. Style always goes with style
Rather than sticking with one style throughout your home, consider mixing a few different iconic styles for a more engaging space. This dining room features a classic Tulip Table paired with an eclectic collection of Scandinavian chairs, the mid-century modern Lucas Sideboard and the Modern Concrete Pendant. Unique each in their own way, forming the perfect backdrop to gather friends and family over a delicious meal.
3. Invest in versatile pieces
Invest in versatile pieces you can’t live without. A sofa can be a great place to start. It’s important to consider the look of your sofa, but more importantly its fit - how do you want it to feel when relaxing into it? Laura selected the Sophia Sofa. It’s crisp and modern and offers a welcoming vibe. Curate your gallery wall to include a mixture of art pieces that share a common thread, such as a color, and you’ll end up with a collection that can be combined in different ways even if you move to a new space.
4. Add a Drapery to add Depth
Laura selected a heathered grey linen drapey panel to soften the windows and add depth to the space. Pair with a classic RAR Molded plastic rocker in the back for the perfect reading corner.
5. Layering with Accessories, Rugs, Botanicals, Art
Layering creates visual interest and brings character to your home. Area rugs, textiles, and art are great ways to introduce color. Plus, they’re yours to keep and easy to move around. Botanicals are always that extra touch that keeps a space feeling fresh
6. Make the space fit you
Consider adding details to your home that fit your lifestyle. Make the space work for you. This hallway nook is perfect for a creative workspace while maintaining the overall flow of the space. Laura designed the custom metal grid as a graphic wall piece to collect inspiration, daily reminders or tokens from your latest adventure.
